Role Purpose
Support the Healthcare, Performance, and rehabilitation of all U16s and U14s Academy players at Tottenham Hotspur PGA
To become embedded in an exciting wider Medical Team which strives to achieve optimal results in all areas of Sports Medicine and aligns itself with the performance strategies of the club and the Women’s Team
Develop and establish effective working practices within the Tottenham Hotspur Women’s Academy
Key Responsibilities
Full Time Academy Physio/Therapist supporting the U21s/16s/14s PGA Women Players. To play a key role in assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injured players. Oversee ETC programme
To work in an MDT with other performance services and technical staff to ensure there is a holistic approach to player development and care
To be present at all Academy training and matches, both home and away, providing pitch side cover as required
To create successful and professional relationships with staff whilst maintaining professional distance from playing staff at all times
To communicate directly and professionally with parents and players to ensure all parties are happy with ongoing issues and treatments as appropriate
To ensure all venue EAPs are updated and shared with other staff on site as well as any opposition teams
To ensure all medical equipment is maintained and updated with the departments Medical Lead
Comfortable working with the full spectrum of injuries you would expect in women’s high-performance environment
Play an active role in the delivery of recovery sessions following games
Help to maintain an audit of injuries within our Women’s Teams
Keep accurate medical records using a computerised notes system and carry out annual medicals on each individual player
Promote anti-doping policies in line with WADA
Safeguarding Responsibilities
Have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
Act in accordance with the organisation’s safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
Be alert to signs of abuse, neglect, or safeguarding concerns and report these appropriately
Maintain professional boundaries and act as a positive role model when working with or around children
Attend safeguarding training as required and keep knowledge up to date
Person Specification
Qualifications
A BSc in Sports Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation or Physiotherapy
BASRaT or CSP (HCPC) Registered
An extensive and up to date CPD portfolio
Current ITMIFF or ATMMiF qualification desirable
Current and valid driving licence
Skills & Experience
Postgraduate experience in Sports
Be a good role model for staff and players in the elite sport environment in terms of knowledge, behaviour and development
Excellent communication and organisational skills. Able to multi-task and manage situations in a calm and ordered fashion
Experience of providing elite therapy services based on the principles of human performance and how they relate to clinical sports medicine either FT or PT
Comfortable practicing autonomously but aware of own knowledge depth and not afraid to share ideas and seek advice
Always maintain high professional standards and conform to expected behaviours in terms of clinical practice and confidentiality
Be willing and able to travel away from home including to international tours and tournaments, an including weekends, bank holidays, and evening work
Demonstrates good work ethic and high output
Highly motivated and engaged in their role, with the ability to generate ideas independently and then discuss and implement with a MDT dynamic
Strong rehabilitation skills to take athletes from plinth to pitch
Passionate to be part developing the next generation of Tottenham Hotspur Players and demonstrable interest in the physical development of elite academy players
