We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our Pharmacy Stores team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary. We are forward thinking and focused on delivering the highest quality of services for our patients. The successful applicant will receive full training and be supported in completing their NVQ Level 2 Apprenticeship in Pharmacy Services.
Working Pattern
Monday to Friday 9:00 to 17:30 with weekend and Bank Holiday work as part of a rotation.
Responsibilities
* Receiving and issuing stock items.
* Providing safe, timely, appropriate, cost-effective and high-quality pharmaceutical services.
* Adhering to legislation, national and local standards and procedures in all tasks performed.
* Participating in the introduction and use of new technology and techniques in accordance with the needs of the service.
* Working as a member of the pharmacy team to provide safe, timely, appropriate and high-quality pharmaceutical services covering reception, purchasing and distribution.
* Acquiring, with training, a working knowledge of the pharmacy computer system in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
* Maintaining stock and consumable levels ensuring stock rotation within designated areas in accordance with procedures.
* Performing general tidying and non-domestic cleaning duties in the department as needed, ensuring the safe disposal of waste.
* Having awareness of COSHH (Control of substances hazardous to health) regulations for the storage, handling and disposal of pharmaceutical products.
Qualifications
Previous Pharmacy experience is not essential but applicants must have competent IT skills and good basic education including English and Maths to GCSE level.
