A diverse, interesting and busy opportunity has arisen for an external Security Courtyard Officer at a beautiful open-air shopping and dining destination located in the heart of Covent Garden. This urban oasis offers an array of shops, restaurants and experiences. You will be employed to aid and assist (as well as protect) the premises, visitors’ and customers in a helpful and professional manner. Preventing any threat to any tenant or other members of the public and any unauthorised persons entering restricted parts of the premises at any time. Ensuring that all personnel can go about their business in a safe and friendly environment. Duties will involve external visual presence as well as carrying out patrols. Information: Position: Estate Courtyard Officer Location: London (WC2H) Pay Rate: £14.05 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week Shifts: Mon-Fri, 13:00-21:00 Job Requirements: SIA Door Supervisor Licence required Security Experience / Customer Service is required - ideally in an estate or public space area Physically fit to complete patrols internally and externally and able to stand/walk for extended periods when asked in all weathers Excellent levels of customer service & communication Must have good command of English Language and IT skills Reliable, confident and committed Flexible in the approach to daily duties and additional events when held on site. The ability to work independently and as part of a team Have a calm personality capable of controlling difficult situations Be confident you can undertake 100% of all specific duties Be able to provide all the documentation and vetting information requested First Aid qualification& CCTV Licence is a bonus Job Responsibilities: Able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team and have a proactive and ever evolving approach towards their duties. Able to adapt to new duties added to the assignment as the contract evolves. To prevent unauthorised access while always remaining professional. To ensure that the customer Permit to work system is always adhered to. To assist and respond to all fire alarm activations in a calm and professional demeanour. To be vigilant and observant of visitors and occupiers ensuring no baggage is left unattended and applicable signage is placed correctly, I.E wet floor signs. To book visitors in whilst announcing the visitor to the appropriate person(s) To conduct regular internal and external Building and Estate patrols and as per the site’s assignment instructions. Report any patrol observations and or defects to the Security Manager as well as documenting it appropriately. To prevent unauthorised personnel from entering the premises. To assist members of the public and or visitors who may need our help with local information. To conduct a thorough check of all identified vulnerable points of the Estate as well as ensuring all exits are secure and no risks are present or obstruct. To check for suspicious characters loitering around the Estate, reporting all suspicious behaviours back to the team as well as the Security Manager. To prevent and detect fire, water leaks, and any potential safety hazards. To act as an ambassador for the Estate ensuring that their business is represented accordingly. To ensure that a full and thorough handover is conducted with the oncoming patrol officer.
