Based at our Tyre Warehouse & Distribution facility the Transport Manager plays a crucial role, reporting into the Hub Manager and responsible for the leadership of a department and team of driver colleagues, as well as all site transport operations and compliance, delivering daily to a varied customer base in the region utilising a mixed fleet of multi-drop vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity to take full ownership of all site based transport operations as part of the senior site leadership team.
The Day to Day
* Providing expert leadership and direction to your department, direct reports, support and driver colleagues, able to continually develop your team and their performance
* Delivering high levels of customer service to a varied customer base, some receiving multiple daily deliveries, utilising a mixed fleet of multi-dropping vehicles
* Ensuring expert practise around fleet, maintenance, safe and compliant operation
* Working collaboratively with all hub network managers, sharing knowledge, improving service delivery
* Applying sound commercial acumen to planning, fleet utilisation, best use of all available resource, able to reduce waste and cost from all areas of the department
