Job Overview

Are you a seasoned Change Management specialist ready to make a direct impact on patient care?

Join our Digital Data & Technology (DDaT) team as the Digital Change Lead. This pivotal role drives the smooth adoption and stability of digital services across our Trust and the wider health system.

Responsibilities

* Leading change: Owning the development, implementation, and delivery of ITIL Change processes to govern all digital system updates and improvements.
* Ensuring compliance: Maintaining rigorous adherence to ISO 20000 (2018) Standards, safeguarding our critical DDaT services and patient data.
* Adding value: Partnering with external suppliers and project teams to ensure new digital services (EPR, telehealth, etc.) are stable, scalable, and meet service standards.
* Operating autonomously: Working as a specialist technical resource on projects, requiring minimal supervision to deliver critical tasks.

Change Governance and Leadership

* Own, implement, and enforce the ITIL-based Change Management process across all DDaT services to minimise disruption and maximise beneficial change.
* Chair and coordinate the Change Advisory Board (CAB), ensuring all changes undergo rigorous risk assessments, impact assessments, and test‑plan reviews.
* Act as the expert advisor on Digital Change Management, communicating complex, multi‑stranded technical issues and proposed policy changes to managers and stakeholders across the Trust.

Service Delivery and Technical Expertise

* Lead and deliver technical projects related to infrastructure upgrades, system decommissions, and the introduction of new services to end‑users.
* Serve as the point of technical escalation for DDaT staff, providing leadership and aid in the investigation and diagnosis of complex IT issues (e.g., via root cause analysis).
* Aide strategic planning for digital assets to ensure they remain fit for purpose and support the Trust's goals.

Stakeholder and Supplier Management

* Build and maintain working relationships with external suppliers and project teams to ensure new digital services meet service standards and are delivered on time.
* Advise on procurement and vendor management to support the introduction and maintenance of high‑quality digital solutions.

Essential Criteria

* Expert knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles, specifically the ITIL Change Management process, demonstrated by experience coordinating and chairing a Change Advisory Board (CAB).
* Proven ability to communicate highly complex or multi‑stranded technical information effectively to a diverse audience, including non‑Digital managers.
* Demonstrable technical proficiency in system administration (or an equivalent specialist technical area) with the ability to maintain and manage at least one critical information system.
* Experience in defining and adhering to governance models for Change Management, including the creation and maintenance of essential reports (e.g., project highlight, exception, or ITSM reports).

Desirable Criteria

* Experience coordinating root cause analysis (RCA) or proactive trend analysis to investigate IT‑related problems and review process failures.
* Demonstrated experience evaluating new and emerging technologies and proposing changes to organisational policies and procedures that impact teams beyond the immediate DDaT function.
* Experience training, updating, and motivating colleagues on new technical solutions and aiding in developing team capabilities through the provision of effective system documentation.
* Prior experience liaising with and managing technical support agencies and external suppliers (hardware and software) to implement recommended solutions and ensure service delivery aligns with organisational standards.
