Job Title: Care & Support Worker - Nights (Miranda House)About the roleDepartment: Care and Support ServicesReporting to: Care and Support Team Leader / (Deputy) ManagerAs a Care and Support Worker, you will offer responsive, respectful and reliable day care and support service to vulnerable older people within an extra care service. As well as this, we are looking for someone who can provide support, care, and activities to members, involving family, carers and other agencies to meet their changing needs.Key Responsibilities• To deliver a respectful, responsive and reliable service to residents, their families and other stakeholders at all times• Ensure that a stimulating, welcoming and safe environment is maintained, the rights of residents are respected and that they are allowed to take appropriate risks promoting independence and freedom of choice & flexibility• To review and maintain individual care and support plans with residents, families and staff • Effectively communicate with residents, families and staff across the organisation and partners • Ensure residents are encouraged to reach their optimum level of independence and assist residents who need support regularly, including activities, meals, washing, shopping, and toileting in accordance with their care and support plan• Liaise with Adult Social Care, day care and voluntary sector providers, health workers, voluntary organisations and other professionals to support member’s needs• To report and record appropriate information concerning residents• To ensure that the confidentiality and dignity of all residents is respected• To ensure the emotional and physical well-being of all residents; ensuring assistance with personal care needs and health supervision is provided• To respond to calls from residents throughout the day and attend to any emergency that arises whilst on duty and take adequate steps to ensure residents lives are safeguardedAbout youWe believe every employee at Octavia has a part to play in delivering of our vision and strategy.
