Role Overview We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team on a 12-month maternity leave cover. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-impact, mission-critical industry while supporting key supply chain and manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you will play a vital role in ensuring materials and services are procured efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with quality and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities Raise and manage purchase orders accurately and on time Attend procurement and cross-functional meetings at our Crawley manufacturing site Build and maintain strong, collaborative supplier relationships Support cost-reduction initiatives and benchmark supply chain competitiveness Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, and Quality teams on NPI projects Support the Senior Buyer with negotiations and strategic sourcing activities Identify and implement cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities Ensure compliance with ISO standards through accurate process documentation Resolve supplier invoice queries and manage internal demand requests Monitor supplier performance to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met (Total Cost of Ownership) What Were Looking For Minimum 3 years purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) Detail-focused, proactive, and solution-oriented approach What We Offer Opportunity to work in a global, high-technology organisation with a meaningful mission Exposure to complex manufacturing and international supply chains Supportive team environment with cross-functional collaboration Office-based role with some flexibility
