Job Description
Reporting to the Group Head of Sales, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for delivering revenues across client solutions, one day conferences, our multiday EXPOS and our Awards. Working closely with multiple stakeholders in marketing and content functions, the role will involve selling intelligent campaigns including sponsored content, conference sponsorship, EXPO sponsorship, EXPO stands, print and digital advertising, across the entire Inside Housing and Social Housing portfolio. You’ll be part of a dynamic team and need exceptional organisational skills whilst you focus your time on the right streams at the right times.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Sales Objectives
* Exceeding team and individual sales targets set, including client solutions, conferences sponsorship and exhibition Stands
* Selling bespoke marketing packages over the telephone, at client meetings and at events
* Accurately forecast and track key sales metrics – reporting weekly to Group Head of Sales
* Generating new business opportunities and growing revenues with existing key accounts
* Contributing ideas and develop opportunities that will assist in the growth of the business
Account Responsibilities
* Operate as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to your accounts
* Develop a trusted advisor relationship with customer stakeholders
* Ensure the timely and successful execution of all deliverables
Industry Knowledge and OMG Representation
* Ongoing development of industry knowledge
* Weekly/monthly reading of Inside Housing & Social Housing to facilitate more effective client conversations
* Develop and maintain knowledge of OMG portfolio products
Administrative Duties
* Updating and maintaining sales pipeline with all sales activity
* Updating and maintaining sales ledger with current sales
* Ensuring all contractual paperwork is completed accurately
* Ensuring NetSuite-CRM system is kept up to date with full and accurate notes
* Assisting Accounts/Finance team in chasing payments or outstanding invoices
* Chasing advertising copy/info from clients as required
* Generating order confirmations for clients once sales are confirmed
* Assisting clients to get their campaigns up and running regularly
What we are looking for:
* A proven track record in Selling print and digital advertising.
* Experience in Selling sponsored content, sponsorship and events is beneficial but not essential
* Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
* Exceptional organisation and time management skills
* Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
* A natural problem solver, the post holder has both the analytical skills to quickly understand an issue facing the market, and the creativity and initiative to identify a solution
* Confident, outgoing personality
* Must have proven attention to detail and a track record of checking own and others’ work for accuracy
* The ability to work both as part of a team and on own initiative will be imperative to this role
