About The Role
We’re looking for a caring and reliable Bus Driver to take our residents from our 4 York care homes on day trips, helping them stay connected, engaged, and part of the community. Our residents will be primarily supported by our care staff on the trips but you will also be expected to provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive experience for our residents every journey. It is more than just driving; you will be making a meaningful difference to our residents lives.
What Youll Do
* Drive our minibus safely on scheduled outings.
* Support residents when boarding and disembarking. There may be occasions whereby you will have to support residents to the toilet when out on trips if required. Training will be provided.
* Ensure residents feel comfortable and valued throughout the trip.
* Report any vehicle issues promptly.
* Manage the maintenance of the vehicle (i.e. book in for service etc).
What Were Looking For
* Valid driving license (with D1 category).
* Experience driving passenger vehicles
* Patient, friendly, and compassionate nature.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
