Overview
As a Activity Leader, we are looking for you to get involved with the running of the programme events, ensuring the children are well looked after, engaged, supported and most importantly having fun!
You'll inspire young people to develop their own creativity, self-esteem and to value integrity, respect and collaboration with others. We divide up the children into age groups and have different, age relevant activities planned for the day. We run skills clinics for children ages 8-15 years old, every morning of Camp Williams for them to learn a new hobby, practice a favourite sport or try something for the very first time!
If you have experience in coaching, teaching, leading or even enjoy a hobby that kids will love, you could be an Activity Leader!
It's high energy, intense and jam-packed full of fun. You are going to have as much fun as the children in your care.
Responsibilities
* Support the running of programme events and ensure children are well looked after, engaged, supported and having fun.
* Inspire young people to develop creativity, self-esteem and values such as integrity, respect and collaboration.
* Manage groups by age, with age-appropriate activities planned for each day.
* Facilitate skills clinics for ages 8-15, helping children learn a new hobby, practice sport or try something new.
* Bring high energy to the role and contribute to a fun, safe environment for the children.
* Commit to whole weeks for consistency of the children in your care and support ongoing hours over an academic year where possible.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in coaching, teaching, leading, or a hobby that children will enjoy.
* Over 18 years old.
* Eligibility for an enhanced DBS check (paid for by YMCA) and registration with the DBS Update Service.
Details
* The camp day is 7:30am to 6:00pm and operates Monday to Friday.
* Based at the YMCA Community and Activity Village, operating through every Nottinghamshire County Council school holiday.
* This role offers opportunities to return for future holidays and become a long-term member of the Camp team.
