Overview
We are looking for a for admin and clerical support for the Trauma Assessment Unit (TAU) for 1 year fixed term.
We are a small dynamic team and are always forward thinking to improve the care for our patients. We are seeking a motivated worker who is able to work as part of our small team, but who can also work on their own initiative to support with the day to day administrative tasks required for the unit and the trauma sisters. Full training will be provided, however previous experience will be beneficial. Good literacy and excellent communication, both written and verbal are necessary. Responsibilities
* To provide efficient and professional administrative and clerical support to the Trauma Assessment Unit and trauma sisters. This will include:
To receive patients and relatives in a friendly and courteous manner and provide relevant information to patients and relatives clearly and in a way that patients and relatives understand. To orientate patients and relatives to the environment and facilities that are available
* To answer telephone enquiries, taking and relaying messages in a polite and helpful manner, taking action as appropriate.
* To liaise with nurses, Doctors, GP's and other members of the team obtaining and communicating necessary information accurately to assist the provision of a quality service for the patients.
* Scanning of patient documents and uploading to their electronic record
* To input data into the National Hip Fracture Database
* To support in the administrative tasks involved in planning of procedures within the unit
To arrange follow up appointments and transport for patients as and when appropriate
* To organise the maintenance/repairs of equipment/facilities on the ward
* Support the department with stock rotation and ordering supplies
