General Operative / Handyperson HMP Deerbolt, Barnard Castle (DL12 9BG) Salary: £27,426 15% weekend allowance Hours: 39 hrs per week Working hours: Mon–Thu: 07:30 – 16:00 Fri: 07:30 – 15:00 Weekends: 1 in 3 on a rota (07:30 – 15:30) The role Permanent position carrying out general maintenance and handyperson duties at HMP Deerbolt. You’ll support trades and help keep the site safe and running smoothly. Duties General maintenance & repairs Supporting on‑site trades Basic building / DIY tasks What you’ll need All‑round maintenance or DIY experience Reliable, organised and a team player Willingness to learn Prison security clearance and Standard DBS required (fully supported by Amey).
