Salary: Starting from £88.92 per day
Contract: Full-time, Part-time, and Ad-hoc (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm)
Overview
Vetro Education is working in partnership with a respected Welsh-medium primary school in Blaenau Gwent to recruit a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a fluent Welsh speaker with a passion for education and a commitment to supporting pupils in a Welsh-language learning environment. You will work closely with teaching staff to assist in lesson delivery, provide targeted pupil support, and contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 and small group support to pupils across Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2, through the medium of Welsh.
Promote the use of Welsh language throughout the school day, encouraging pupil confidence and fluency.
Assist in preparing and adapting classroom materials to suit individual learning needs.
Support pupils with ALN and behavioural needs as required.
Contribute to classroom management and assist with pupil engagement and well-being.
Work collaboratively with staff, pupils, and families, using Welsh as the primary language of communication.
Candidate Requirements
Fluent in Welsh (spoken and written) - essential for this role.
Minimum of 3 months' experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
Empathetic, adaptable, and committed to supporting a range of pupil needs.
Good understanding of classroom routines and child development.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
A genuine interest in promoting Welsh-medium education.
Essential Compliance
Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
EWC registration as a Learning Support Worker (or willingness to register).
Right to work in the UK.
