We are currently seeking an Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Stancombe
As a Trainee Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with our Commercial and Operational teams, gaining invaluable experience in managing and controlling the financial and commercial aspects of projects and contracts. You'll learn how to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest levels of customer satisfaction. This is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience while studying towards a nationally recognised qualification.
What you'll be doing...
As a Trainee Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll work alongside experienced Commercial and Operational teams, learning how to manage and control the financial and commercial aspects of construction projects. Activities may include:
Collaborating with operational teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
Preparing and reviewing client accounts and commercial statements
Analysing project drawings and quantifying work
Managing payments and sub-contract purchase orders with full compliance
Tracking applications for payment and ensuring timely processing
Supporting the measurement and valuation of completed works

Qualification : Level 4 Construction Quantity Surveying Technician apprenticeship.

We welcome people from all backgrounds - no prior experience needed
Essential
A minimum Level 3 qualification (like A-Levels or a BTEC) or equivalent, and evidence of GCSEs (or functional skills) in Maths and English at grade 4/C or above
Desirable
Passionate about starting a career in the construction and building materials industry
Committed to completing a Level 4 Qualification while gaining practical experience
A strong team player with a collaborative mindset
Eager to develop commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
