The role
As a Senior Payroll Administrator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time, every time. Your expertise will directly support thousands of people across our UK operations, enabling them to focus on protecting communities, supporting national infrastructure and delivering complex engineering programmes. This is more than payroll processing. It's about trust, attention to detail and being part of something bigger. You'll work within our Corporate Services function, using your experience to maintain high standards, improve processes, and build a strong foundation for your continued professional growth.
Day-to-day, you'll be required to:
* Processing weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and on schedule
* Maintaining employee payroll records, including starters and leavers
* Updating staff data within the SAP payroll system with precision
* Producing payroll reports and documentation for internal use
* Checking and reconciling payroll outputs prior to BACS submission
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office and days working from home.
Essential experience
* Proven experience in payroll administration or a strong corporate administration background
* Demonstrated accuracy with high volume, detail focused work
* Strong organisational and planning skills
* Confident written and verbal communication abilities
* Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Qualifications
* GCSEs in Mathematics and English (or equivalent)
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
