Senior Quantity Surveyor
Salary: £70,000 – £75,000 + package
Location: Poole, Dorset (with regional travel)
A leading, award-winning regional housebuilder is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. Specialising in high-quality residential developments and mixed-use schemes across Dorset, Hampshire, and Wiltshire, this is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of exciting projects from inception to completion.
The Role:
As Senior QS, you will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of multiple projects, ensuring cost control, contractual compliance, and maximising profitability. You will work closely with site and design teams to deliver high-spec homes on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the commercial management of allocated residential developments.

Prepare, negotiate, and agree sub-contractor packages and procurement schedules.
*
Manage budgets, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
*
Produce accurate monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and forecasts.
*
Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams to resolve commercial issues.
*
Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and legislation.
About You:
*
Proven experience as a Senior QS or strong QS ready for progression.
*
Background in residential housebuilding (open market, affordable, or mixed-use).
*
Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and construction processes.
*
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
*
Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
