Role Overview
As a QA Inspector, you will be responsible for monitoring and verifying the quality of our client's kitchen components at various stages of production — from goods inwards to final inspection. You will work closely with production, finishing, and logistics teams to ensure compliance with both customer specifications and internal quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct
in-process inspections
on raw materials, work-in-progress parts, and finished kitchen units
Perform
final quality checks
on doors, panels, and components before they are dispatched
Use appropriate inspection equipment (e.g. calipers, micrometers, gauges) to check dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish.
Verify that products meet specification: colour, finish, edge banding, fittings, and construction quality.
Identify non-conformances (defects, dimensional errors, finish issues) and report them in line with quality processes
Work with production teams to root cause quality issues and support corrective actions / rework
Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records (e.g. inspection check-sheets, QA logs)
Support internal audits and periodic quality reviews / continuous improvement initiatives
Liaise with suppliers (if necessary) to address material quality or specification discrepancies
Train or guide production staff on correct build and finishing standards when needed
Help maintain calibration of measuring tools and inspection equipment
Maintain a tidy and organized QA workspace and ensure compliance with health & safety standards
Person Specification / Skills & Experience
Previous experience in quality inspection or quality assurance — ideally in
furniture manufacturing
,
cabinetry
, or
kitchen production
Strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset
Experience using measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
Good written and verbal communication skills — able to write clear inspection reports and communicate with production colleagues
Basic computer skills – especially for recording inspection data (Excel, internal quality systems)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings / product specification sheets
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work with production to correct defects
Understanding of quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001) is a plus
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical capability to handle product inspection (standing for long periods, handling kitchen components)
