Job Overview
Our Community Phlebotomists work independently under the supervision of the Community Nursing Team, obtaining blood samples from patients in their own homes.
Responsibilities
* Obtain consistently high-quality blood samples for subsequent laboratory analysis.
* Work independently/lone working.
* Keep accurate and up to date records.
* Escalate concerns.
* Undertake training.
We will be looking for well‑motivated team players who are passionate about providing high quality care to patients. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to organise and prioritise your workload without direct supervision.
Qualifications
Experience of phlebotomy or community working is desirable, but not essential. There will be opportunities for training and personal development available for the appointed person.
The role requires working throughout Newcastle under Lyme, Stoke and Staffordshire Moorlands providing home visits to patients who are housebound. The teams cover a large geographical area, so the ability to travel independently between patients' homes and the surrounding area is essential.
