What you'll be doing
We're looking for a mid-weight Product Designer to join our UX team at Boots. In this role, you'll help shape and deliver best‑in‑class digital product experiences for millions of our customers.
You’ll work across the full product design lifecycle—from early concepting and problem framing, through to detailed UI design and handover to development. You’ll collaborate closely with UX Leads, Designers, SMEs, Product Managers, Engineers, and our wider Digital Experience teams to bring designs to life.
Key Responsibilities
* Create high‑quality wireframes, prototypes, and pixel‑perfect UI designs that communicate and validate concepts.
* Develop user flows, journey maps, and information architectures to help create intuitive and efficient user experiences.
* Refine designs based on user feedback, stakeholder input, and usability findings.
* Partner with developers to ensure design intent is understood and achieved in final build.
* Advocate for user‑centred design principles and best practices throughout the product lifecycle.
* Work confidently within design systems and brand guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality across all journeys.
* Stay current with latest design trends and technologies to improve how we work.
* Support user research efforts by contributing design perspectives, helping translate insights into clear design opportunities.
* Collaborate with teams—including product managers, engineers, and fellow designers—to shape and deliver the product design vision.
* Contribute to design critiques and peer reviews, offering thoughtful and constructive feedback.
* Bring a creative mindset, approaching problems with fresh thinking—even when solutions extend beyond traditional UX or UI patterns.
What you'll need to have (our must-haves)
* 3–5+ years of professional experience in product and/or UI design.
* Strong portfolio showcasing high‑quality UI design work, with examples of responsive digital products.
* Solid understanding of UX principles and methodologies, with a desire to deepen your UX expertise.
* Proficiency in Figma (and handover tools like Zeplin is a plus).
* Experience working within larger product or design teams, or in environments with established design processes and systems.
* Experience in eCommerce or retail is highly desirable.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate decisions and present work confidently—including to senior stakeholders.
* Creative problem‑solver—curious, proactive, and able to generate thoughtful solutions even when the path isn't obvious.
* Collaborative mindset with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
* Knowledge of front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, etc.) is a plus.
Rewards designed for you
* Pension membership
* Partial paid maternity leave
* Discretionary annual bonus
* Generous employee discounts
* Flexible benefits scheme
