A Sixth form College in Peterlee is seeking an outstanding teacher to cover A-Level Chemistry,BTEC Level 3 Applied Science and Access to HE (Chemistry) classes for at least one half-term, with the possibility of extension or a permanent appointment for the right person.
The post is full-time, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 09:00 – 17:00, to start 25th August. Thursday will be an extended session until 20.30pm for their adult Access cohort.
The ideal Chemistry Teacher candidate would have the following requirements:
1. PGCE – completed or currently in training (with at least one teaching placement)
2. Have taught A level Chemistry or at least proven delivery during PCGCE placement
3. Coursework expertise – designing, deliveringand assessing practical/written units at Level 3
4. Availability for the full working pattern noted above, for a minimum of one half-term
5. (Desirable) A personal A-Level qualification in Chemistry
6. Have a passion teaching Chemistry
7. Have excellent subject knowledge
8. Be able to organise themselves
9. Be able to engage with pupils in a proactive way
