Responsibilities
* Manage a varied caseload of criminal defence matters
* Attend police stations and represent clients at the Magistrates’ Court
* Assist with Crown Court cases where appropriate
* Participate in the duty rota, including out of hours work
* Work closely with experienced colleagues on case preparation
* Deliver high quality, timely and robust legal advice to clients
Qualifications and requirements
* Qualified Solicitor with current Duty Accreditation (essential)
* Experience handling criminal matters (during training or post-qualification)
* Confident attending police stations and representing clients at the Magistrates’ Court
* Strong advocacy skills and ability to work effectively under pressure
* Commitment to excellent client care and professional standards
* Willing to participate in the out of hours duty rota
* Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach
* Well established practice with a strong reputation in criminal defence
