Overview

Are you a leader and manager who is committed to making a positive difference to the lives of young people? The role of Pastoral Manager is central to our work at Hartwell School, as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team alongside the Headteacher and two Deputy Heads. The role heads up the pastoral team with a Deputy Manager, three assistants, and liaises with the teaching and clinical teams. Using data and broader knowledge of the school, staff and pupils, you will evaluate priorities to provide Positive Behaviour Support for pupils. This in turn improves access to learning and personal development to create better outcomes and more positive futures.

Working for Hartwell School and the wider Witherslack Group offers opportunities to develop and learn, with support to be successful in your role. You will enable your team to meet our young people\'s emotional needs, discover effective ways to respond to complex needs, and work with families to develop programs for each individual pupil. By careful assessment and planning, you will create a positive learning environment where every pupil can thrive. Experience with young people with BESD or ASD in a school or care setting will help you understand developmental needs and what pastoral care entails. You should be a good listener who can motivate your team and inspire young people to achieve. Flexibility, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a team will make you a valuable asset to the Witherslack Group.

Hartwell School is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education, based in Stockton-on-Tees.
