Modern Apprenticeship – Machining
Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals interested in commencing as Apprentices in July 2025. All training provided follows EMTA recommendations. Applicants should preferably have or be working towards standard grade passes in Maths and Physics. Our Machining Apprentices work on highly skilled, complex, and precision tasks at our Arbroath facility, machining components from various materials.
What Does the Apprenticeship Involve?
This is a 4-year apprenticeship to qualify with an NC in Mechanical Engineering. The first year is spent at Angus Training Group learning manufacturing fundamentals, including machining, assembling, and inspection. Subsequently, you will join the Halliburton manufacturing facility, receiving training on various machine tools and inspection equipment used in producing Halliburton Completion products. You will operate machines like CNC lathes, mills, and other specialist equipment such as Hones and Gun Drills to produce components meeting strict standards and specifications. Candidates should also apply to Angus Training Group for an aptitude test to assess suitability for the apprenticeship.
