Technical trainer (for ai and product management programmes)

Cambridge Spark
Product manager
Posted: 3 December
Offer description

Department: Training

Location: Home based, UK

Reports to: Training Delivery Team Lead

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: (Depending on experience)

Role Overview

Cambridge Spark is looking for a Technical Trainer to deliver our gold-standard AI and digital transformation programmes, with a primary focus on Level 3 AI Champion, Level 4 AI Transformation Specialist, and Level 4 Digital Product Manager.

You’ll lead practical, hands-on workshops and learner clinics that help people adopt AI safely, deliver AI-enabled business change, and build customer-driven digital and AI products. Working across funded apprenticeships and corporate training, you’ll ensure that programmes meet high standards for learner engagement, applied workplace impact, and real-world relevance.

These pathways are designed for professionals who are not necessarily developers, so your training will emphasise applied GenAI use, business analysis for AI, product thinking, and organisational adoption rather than deep model-building.

Key responsibilities:

* Deliver engaging workshops and tutorials across:
o AI foundations and practical workplace use
o AI-driven business analysis, requirements, process optimisation, and change
o Customer-driven product management, roadmapping, delivery, and lifecycle management, including AI/data products
* Teach responsible, secure, and effective use of GenAI tools, including prompt engineering, productivity tooling (e.g., Copilot-style workflows), and adoption best practice.
* Support learners from diverse backgrounds, adapting delivery for different roles (operations, product, BA, etc.) and levels of technical confidence.
* Facilitate stakeholder-focused practice, including communication planning, engagement strategies, and conflict resolution in transformation/product contexts.
* Contribute to curriculum and assessment improvement, updating content, refining activities, and supporting standardisation across delivery.
* Maintain accurate learner progress and compliance records, engaging in QA, moderation, and safeguarding processes.
* Collaborate across the training and delivery teams, sharing best practice and supporting continuous improvement.
* Engage in ongoing CPD, keeping up to date with fast-moving GenAI tools, workplace adoption patterns, and AI/product/BA practice.

Candidate Specification:

Essential

* Strong applied knowledge of AI concepts and GenAI tools in workplace contexts, including benefits, limitations, ethical use, and human-in-the-loop thinking.
* Practical experience teaching or enabling others in areas such as:
o Prompt engineering and AI productivity workflows.
o AI adoption and rollout, including SOPs, training approaches, and end-user support.
o Business analysis for AI projects: discovery, requirements elicitation, prioritisation, and future-state modelling.
o Process mapping and optimisation in digital/AI implementation contexts.
o Digital product management, covering customer insight, roadmaps, agile/linear lifecycles, and product performance.
* Ability to guide learners in building business cases, defining value, and measuring AI/product outcomes, including data-informed decision making.
* Confident communicator who can explain technical and semi-technical ideas clearly to varied audiences, from frontline teams to senior stakeholders.
* Strong facilitation skills for interactive workshops, clinics, and project coaching.
* Organised, collaborative, and committed to learner success and high-quality delivery.

Desirable

* Teaching/training qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent), or substantial facilitation experience.
* Experience delivering or supporting apprenticeships, including KSB-aligned coaching and assessment preparation.
* Familiarity with responsible AI frameworks (e.g., fairness, explainability, governance, risk mitigation).
* Experience with AI or data product delivery (e.g., working with ML/DS teams, productising AI, or managing AI portfolios).
* Awareness of organisational considerations in AI change, such as data protection, security, sustainability, and change impact.

Company Benefits :

* Remote first company providing flexibility to work from home
* Pension with up to 5% matched contributions
* Opportunity to opt into our salary sacrifice scheme
* 25 days holiday + Flexi bank holidays + 1 day off on your birthday
* A day for volunteering
* Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Leave
* Health & Wellbeing allowance of up to £30 per month

* Private medical insurance and cash plan
