You will be expected to work in the Durrington as part of a shift team
The Shift pattern is:
3 Days, 3 Stand-by, 4 Off
4 Days, 2 Stand-by, 4 Off
1 Stand-by, 3 Nights, 6 Off
1 Stand-by, 4 Nights, 7 Off
This critical role focuses on risk scanning and early intervention across our highest-risk environmental sites, including:
1. Bathing waters (in-season)
2. SSSI (Sites of Special Scientific Interest)
3. Sites flagged for Intensive Care by operational teams
4. Wastewater treatment work focused on Final Effluent impact
You’ll be at the forefront of protecting our most sensitive locations, ensuring that emerging risks are identified early and addressed swiftly through coordinated interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
5. Lead risk scanning activities across designated high-risk sites using data, site information, and environmental indicators. Implementing and supporting season focused requirements.
6. Develop and maintain a risk profile for each Intensive Care entry, to include the exit strategy.
7. Coordinate proactive interventions in response to early signs of pollution or environmental stress.
8. Collaborate with field teams, process scientists, and wider operations to ensure accountability and timely action.
9. Provide weekly updates and insights to Operations and senior stakeholders.
10. Support continuous improvement of our Intensive Care strategy through lessons learned and innovation.
Accountabilities:
Risk Monitoring & Analysis – 20%
11. Continuously scan high-risk sites using trending data, alarms, telemetry, and historical incident patterns.
12. Identify emerging risks and potential failure modes before escalation.
13. Use AI tools and predictive analytics to support early detection and prioritisation
Proactive Intervention Planning – 20%
14. Develop and ititiate containment strategies ahead of failure.
15. Coordinate with field teams and control centres to deploy resources pre-emptively.
16. Escalate risks to relevant teams with clear action plans and timelines.
Data Integration & Insight Generation – 20%
17. Integrate multiple data sources (e.g., SCADA, weather, asset condition, customer calls) to build a comprehensive risk picture.
18. Maintain dashboards and visual tools to support situational awareness.
Operational Coordination – 20%
19. Act as a control point for prioritisation of response across Intensive Care Locations
20. Liaise with mobile plant teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure rapid deployment.
Performance Tracking & Closure – 10&
21. Track all initiated interventions to ensure completion and effectiveness.
22. Maintain audit trail of actions taken and outcomes achieved.
23. Close the loop by reviewing post-incident data and refining future strategies
Continuous Improvement – 5%
24. Contribute to SOP development for common failure modes.
25. Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
26. Support trials and pilots to validate new approaches and technologies.
Stakeholder Engagement – 5%
27. Work closely with Operational Control, PCL’s, Incident Containment Lead and Operational Field Teams and Supply Chain resources
28. Provide regular updates to leadership on risk trends and containment performance.
Skills & Qualifications:
Essential:
29. Strong understanding of environmental risk management, particularly in water quality and pollution control.
30. Experience working with bathing waters, SSSI sites, or similar sensitive environments.
31. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights
