We are looking for a motivated and technically capable Project Manager to join our Structures Team on the Isle of Wight. Our portfolio includes around 200 bridges and 600 retaining walls, forming a critical part of the Island’s infrastructure.
Reporting to the Structures Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of a wide range of structural improvement and lifecycle projects, ensuring each scheme is managed to the high technical, commercial, financial and HSE standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys varied technical work, problem‑solving, and working collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Support the development of the annual structures programme.
* Manage multiple structures improvement and strengthening schemes across all project phases.
* Develop outline design solutions that are technically robust and aligned with asset needs.
* Secure all relevant approvals and consents, including environmental permits.
* Oversee design management and lead the technical delivery of projects.
* Ensure compliance with all management, quality, safety and environmental standards.
* Coordinate responses to technical site queries and temporary works requirements.
* Liaise with third parties including residents, utility companies, contractors and the client.
The successful Project Manager will have:
* HND / Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
* Relevant industry experience in the delivery of civil engineering or structures projects.
* A full UK driving licence (essential for site visits across the Island).
* Experience with MS Project and AutoCAD (desirable).
* Strong written and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Confident communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships.
* Proficient ICT skills and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple tasks.
