Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced Resident Engineer to support civil works on a major 400kV substation project in Pembroke.
This site-based role will involve providing technical support to the civil construction team, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project specifications and National Grid standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in site coordination, technical review and documentation management.
Key Responsibilities
* Set out line and level using surveying equipment
* Support civil engineering activities on a live substation project
* Review and manage civil engineering drawings and documentation
* Act as document controller for civil drawings and technical information
* Assist with constructability reviews alongside the site team
* Raise and manage Technical Queries (TQs) where required
* Support procurement activities, including obtaining quotes and raising orders
* Assist with the preparation and completion of as-built drawings
* Ensure works align with National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS)
Requirements
* Proven experience working on National Grid infrastructure projects
* Must hold National Grid Persons certification
* Strong understanding of National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS)
* Experience working within a substation or high-voltage environments
* Ability to carry out setting out and surveying tasks on site
* Strong coordination and documentation management skills
* Experience supporting site teams with technical queries and constructability reviews
Candidate Profile
You will be a proactive and technically capable Resident Engineer with experience supporting civil works on National Grid. This role requires strong site coordination, technical knowledge and the ability to support construction teams in a fast-paced site environment.
