Job Description This is a fixed term role for 3 years. Depending on future funding this could be extended. About Autism Plus Autism Plus are a leading Yorkshire Charity supporting adults and young people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and complex needs. In 1986 the Charity was created by a group of parents looking for the very best support for their children who were about to leave a specialist school. Once they reached the age of 17, they found there was little or no support. The belief set by our founding parents, to empower more people to live independent, fulfilling lives remains our focus today. We employ over 350 people across the north of England in care support services, employment support and social enterprise businesses. We’re looking for two warm, motivated and person‑centred Sensory Hub Coordinators to help run our much‑loved sensory hub in the heart of Doncaster. The Nook Stop is an inclusive, calming community space where autistic and neurodivergent children, young people, adults and families can drop in for sensory regulation, connection and support. This role offers the chance to be part of a project that families describe as transformative and essential. What You’ll Be Doing - Open and close the sensory Nook each day, ensuring the space is accessible, welcoming and safely secured. - Lead the day‑to‑day running of the Nook, maintaining a calm, inclusive and well‑organised sensory environment. - Provide warm, person‑centred support to autistic and neurodivergent individuals, families and children. - Deliver sensory‑friendly, creative and wellbeing‑focused activities shaped by the community. - Adapt communication and activities to meet a wide range of sensory and access needs. - Help individuals feel safe, regulated and able to engage at their own pace. - Support and guide volunteers, including those with lived experience. - Work closely with the local Employment Team to ensure coordinated pathways for individuals who wish to progress. - Collect feedback, track attendance and contribute to project monitoring and evaluation. - Represent Autism Plus positively within the local community. What We’re Looking For - Experience supporting autistic or neurodivergent individuals. - Warm, calm and approachable communication style. - Understanding of sensory needs and inclusive environments. - Experience facilitating activities or group sessions. - Ability to maintain a safe, structured yet flexible space. - Organised, proactive and confident working independently or as part of a team. - Commitment to person‑centred and trauma‑informed practice. The application process is simple and involves a short application form with a CV upload. If this role is something that interests you, and you feel you could make a real difference, we would love to hear from you! As a disability organisation we are keen to ensure support is available at all stages for those that require this. If you have a disability and/or health condition and require any reasonable adjustments for the application/recruitment process please contact the HR team to discuss how we can support you (Email: hr@autismplus.co.uk, or Telephone: 01143 840300) What we offer: • Institute of Employability Professionals Membership • 20% discount at Park House Barns Chocolate • BUPA Health Cash Plan Scheme • Access to the Blue Light Discount Card • Refer‑a‑Friend cash reward scheme • GloSave access (financial wellbeing & savings support) • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays • Company pension scheme • Employee Assistance Programme • Mileage reimbursement for business travel • Ongoing training and continuous professional development • A genuinely rewarding and meaningful role where you will see the impact of your work every day Proud member of the Disability Confident employer scheme Disability Confident About Disability Confident A Disability Confident employer will generally offer an interview to any applicant that declares they have a disability and meets the minimum criteria for the job as defined by the employer.
