Graduate Science Trainee Teacher – Secondary Schools | Westminster

Are you a graduate or final-year student with a passion for Science and an ambition to become a qualified teacher?


About the Programme

This programme is designed to immerse you in the realities of teaching while providing structured support and training:

* Spend 4½ days per week in school, gaining real classroom experience from day one.
* Dedicate ½ day per week to study, professional development, and academic learning.
* Achieve QTS and a PGCE by July 2027.
* Receive guidance from experienced Science mentors, subject specialists, and trust-wide CPD.
* Follow a phased, structured development plan to build confidence, subject expertise, and classroom management skills.

This practical, career-focused route is ideal for graduates seeking a fully supported introduction to teaching.


Candidate Profile

We are looking for ambitious graduates who:

* Hold (or are predicted) a 2:1 degree or higher in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related subject.
* Have GCSE Grade C / 4 or above in both English and Maths.
* Are passionate about teaching Science and inspiring young people.
* Possess strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
* Respond positively to feedback and thrive in a school environment.
* Are motivated to progress into a long-term career in teaching.
