Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

Do you have a passion for working with children with additional needs, including social, emotional, mental health, SEN, and behavioural challenges?
We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to provide person-centred support to students with complex needs and challenging behaviours related to learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, and mental health issues. The role involves working in a mainstream primary school, supporting children and young people who require 1:1 assistance for reasons such as:
1. Anxiety
2. Exclusion
3. Speech and language difficulties
4. Physical and mental health issues, disabilities, and learning difficulties
Requirements:
* Experience working with children and young people exhibiting challenging behaviour
* De-escalation training (advantageous)
* Background in youth work or similar roles considered
* Confidence in decision-making
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
* Empathy and understanding
* Willingness to pursue professional training and development
