About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. The main responsibility of this role is to ensure that our buildings, machinery, and systems remain functional, safe, and in good repair. You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), responding to reactive issues, and overseeing a range of mechanical, electrical, and general building maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across all site equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems, pumps, mixers, and filling lines (particularly in chemical/paint processing).
Build, modify, and install machinery to meet customer-specific requirements.
Conduct frequent quality checks on equipment and perform emergency repairs when required.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance using CMMS software.
Carry out building and site maintenance checks, including fire safety systems, emergency lighting, compressors, and interlocks.
Weld and repair tanks, vessels, and other mechanical plant infrastructure as needed.
Liaise with external contractors and suppliers for planned and emergency works.
Support compliance with environmental and safety regulations (including COSHH).
Perform risk assessments and contribute to a strong health & safety culture.
Complete ad hoc tasks as required within the scope of the Maintenance Technician role.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years experience in a similar maintenance role.
Strong electrical and mechanical skills.
Knowledge of general maintenance processes, methods, and tools.
Manual dexterity, physical strength, and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces.
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Time management skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Good IT skills, with experience using CMMS or similar maintenance software.
Educated to GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English, Maths, and a Science subject (Chemistry or Physics preferred).
A full and valid UK drivers licence.
Desirable Certifications:
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent.
Specialized certification in HVAC, electrical, or related fields.
