We are seeking a Committee Services Officer to join our Committee and Governance Services team.
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Committee Services Officer to become part of our small, supportive Committee and Governance Services team. In this role, you will play a key role in delivering democratic and administrative support to the Combined Authority and its public-facing decision-making committees.
This is a highly visible position, offering our new Committee Services Officer the chance to make a meaningful contribution to the decisions that shape the future of West Yorkshire and improve the lives of its residents. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation - including directors, heads of service, report authors, and both elected and independent members.

The Role
Reporting into the Committee Team Leader, your key responsibilities will include:
· Arrange and support the Combined Authority’s formal committee meetings including the co-ordination and collation of committee papers, and publishing of agendas.
· Attending committee meetings, taking notes, drafting accurate minutes and providing advice on procedural matters.
· Oversight and co-ordination of Agenda Forward Plans and webcasting of committee meetings.

About You
You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:
· Experience of working in a similar role, of preparing agendas, attending meetings, and taking minutes of formal meetings with key attention to detail.
· Political awareness and knowledge of local government and its ways of working.
· Experienced user of Microsoft Office with ability to produce documentation swiftly and accurately.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Skilled at organising your own workload and prioritising tasks with the ability to anticipate and be proactive.
