About the Role
We’re recruiting for a Shift Supervisor to join our friendly and high-performing team at our Linford Block Plant. The site is conveniently located for candidates travelling from Tilbury, Gravesend, Rochester, Gillingham, Dartford, Purfleet on Thames, Grays, Wickford, Southend-on-Sea, Basildon, Brentwood, Billericay and surrounding areas.
At Linford, we manufacture sustainable, tough, and energy-efficient aerated blocks used across the UK in homes, workplaces and beyond. As Shift Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring safe and efficient plant operations while leading a team committed to delivering high-quality products.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Shift Supervisor, you will:
1. Lead and coordinate the shift team, ensuring effective labour utilisation
2. Support training and development across the team
3. Manage contractors and engage with hauliers
4. Prioritise workload and oversee safe plant operation
5. Promote and uphold strong Health, Safety & Environmental (SHE) standards
6. Complete and monitor operator preventative maintenance tasks
7. Ensure high levels of housekeeping and mobile plant cleanliness
8. Maintain accurate records including KPIs, site inspections, daily checks
9. Participate actively in daily and weekly safety briefings
10. Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities
11. Collaborate with maintenance teams on day-to-day and shutdown activities
12. Ensure products are manufactured efficiently and to high quality standards
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
13. Experience within a manufacturing environment
14. Knowledge of heavy plant and equipment
15. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
16. Familiarity with ISO standards (,,, )
17. Strong communication skills and good written and spoken English
18. A proactive attitude, good timekeeping and flexible approach
19. The ability to build strong working relationships across departments
