We are seeking two dedicated and compassionate individuals to take on the new role of Co-Heads of Community for one of the school’s four Communities.
The Co-Heads of Community are permanent roles forming a key part of our pastoral support structure. Working alongside the Heads of Community/Achievement Coordinators and the wider pastoral team, you will help lead effective, inclusive Communities and support the wellbeing, attendance and behaviour of students.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about student welfare, is an excellent communicator and thrives in a collaborative, student-centred environment. The successful candidate will model professionalism, empathy and the BET values of ‘enjoy, respect, achieve’.
Job Purpose: exceptional levels of belonging and participation are pivotal to ensuring the best outcomes for our students, working alongside the Head of Community and the wider pastoral team, you will help lead the development of a strong, inclusive Community identity and support the wellbeing, attendance and behaviour of students.
Specific tasks associated with the role of Co-Head of Community :
* Work in partnership with the Head of Community to develop and maintain a positive, inclusive Community culture
* Contribute to shaping a distinct and meaningful Community identity, based on feedback from students, families, and staff
* Promote student pride, responsibility, and belonging within the Community.
* Support the coordination and delivery of a diverse and inclusive Community competition programme
* Uphold high expectations and a culture of unconditional positive regard for all students
* Provide ‘lead support’ for an identified group of students within the Community
* Monitor and support student welfare, including attendance, behaviour, and personal development
* Conduct interventions related to wellbeing, organisation, attendance, and peer relationships
* Support the use of both sanctions and rewards to reinforce the schools behavioural expectations
* Ensure students have a safe and supportive space to share concerns and access guidance
* Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/carers via phone, email or written correspondence
* Use school systems to maintain accurate records of student behaviour, interventions and communications
* Collaborate with Achievement Coordinators and other members of the pastoral and leadership teams to provide consistent student support
* Help gather and act on stakeholder feedback to strengthen Community culture
* Maintain up-to-date records and pastoral documentation in line with BET policies
* Support the Head of Community in planning and delivering Community events, initiatives and assemblies.
* Contribute to weekly pastoral planning and review meetings
* Undertake additional tasks in order to fulfil this key accountability where appropriate.

Salary/Grade: BET Support Staff Scale 4a-4e
Hours
* Full time, term time only
* Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8am-4pm,
* Wednesday 8am-3.30pm
