About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Social Worker to join the Adults Team within North Somerset Council’s Adult Care Services. This ongoing locum role offers flexibility, professional growth, and the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of adults and carers.
As part of a supportive and forward-thinking service, you will deliver person-centred care, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing. Whether full-time or part-time, this role provides the ideal balance between professional fulfilment and personal flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
Complete Care Act 2014 assessments, reviews, and risk assessments for adults and carers.
Develop and implement person-centred care and support plans to achieve positive outcomes.
Apply statutory frameworks such as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Safeguarding Adults procedures.
Promote independence and wellbeing through a strengths-based approach.
Work collaboratively with service users, carers, health professionals, and community partners.
Manage a varied caseload, maintaining accurate and timely electronic records.
Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, best interest decisions, and safeguarding enquiries.
Provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues and partner agencies.
Contribute to service development, reflective practice, and continuous improvement.
Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England.
Experience working within Adult Social Care under the Care Act 2014.
Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and capacity assessments.
Excellent communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills.
