Registered Veterinary Nurse - Theatre

We have an exciting opportunity within our nursing team for a compassionate and confident Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join us as a Referral Theatre Veterinary Nurse.
Role Overview
As part of a dedicated team of skilled anaesthetists and nurses, you will work closely with specialist referral clinicians from various disciplines such as surgery, medicine, ophthalmology, and neurology. Your role will involve a blend of anaesthesia and theatre duties, contributing to the smooth operation of the department. You will be fully supported by our experienced team of nurses and anaesthetists to develop your referral nursing skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide anaesthesia and sedation support across different surgical and medical services.
* Assist in theatre procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
* Collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other referral clinicians.
* Support referral anaesthesia/theatre cases on an on‑call rota and manage increased hourly rates for callouts.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Veterinary Nurse or equivalent qualification.
* Experience in anaesthesia and/or theatre work preferred but not required.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and problem‑solve proactively.
* Team‑oriented mindset and keen interest in referral and theatre work.
Working Hours
This is a full‑time role working a 4‑day week, averaging 38 hours, with 1 in 6 weekends (Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 am‑5:45 pm). Shifts typically run from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. There is also an on‑call rota for referral anaesthesia/theatre cases, with an increased hourly rate for callouts.
