Position Details
* Grade: P2
* Function: Supply Chain
* Location: Glenrothes or Harlow (hybrid)
* Security: Clearance required (baseline may need SC)
* Duration: Full time permanent
* Hours: 37 hrs per week
Role Overview
Executes and manages routine and non‑routine procurements at low values and complexity, including build‑to‑print drawings and COTS equipment and services. Identifies and manages commercial risk, supports contract management activities for Requests for Proposals, negotiates purchase orders and changes, interfaces internally and externally, and contributes to business area strategies.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Experience in Supply Chain, Subcontract Management, Procurement, Commodity Management or related field
* Flexible and positive attitude
* Able to perform effectively in a multi‑functional team
* Related degree/MCIPS or equivalent
* Excellent verbal and written communications
* Experience in or exposure to negotiating low complexity non‑standard agreements
* Experience with problem solving and dispute resolution
* Experience or knowledge of MRP, SAP and purchase order placement/material receipt processes
* Administration of delivery/acceptance/invoicing of goods and services
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience developing and managing supplier relationships and collaborative working
* Program management skills
* Knowledge of import/export legislation and logistical requirements
* Experience working with international suppliers/programmes
* Process improvement skills
Responsibilities
* Liaise with peers from other disciplines and business units, and with functional leadership.
* Source, negotiate, award, and document purchases for materials, services, and supplies.
* Perform or support cost and price analysis, develop negotiation strategies, and lead negotiations to create value‑for‑money outcomes.
* Support Supply Chain bid/proposal activities for strategic pursuits.
* Utilise source selection techniques (e.g., best value, Total Cost of Ownership), perform cost analyses, conduct negotiations, and identify supplier risks.
* Provide risk and opportunity analysis for early capture, particularly regarding the introduction of new suppliers.
* Ensure requirements (eg quality notes, terms and conditions) are communicated to suppliers.
* Manage supplier performance against cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
* Interface with internal and supplier cross‑functional organisations.
* Assist in development of bids and agreements.
* Execute to customer requirements, including government regulations, public law, and Raytheon policies and procedures.
* Promote the function’s contributions to corporate objectives across the organisation.
* Promote sustainable and responsible procurement, including social, cultural, and diversity values.
* Facilitate relationships between functional organisations and suppliers.
* Utilise project management skills and techniques when managing suppliers.
* Initiate and participate in supplier assessments and development activities.
* Participate in supplier and internal review meetings.
* Produce support data or business cases/briefing materials for management reviews.
* Lead or assist in supplier assessments and due diligence activity teams.
* Maintain supplier scorecards, track performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
* Manage the full purchase‑to‑pay (P2P) cycle.
* Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and ensure pricing remains competitive.
