We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our high-performing Construction North Business, based at our offices in Morley, Leeds.
This is an exciting growth phase as we expand our business front end. We are looking for a candidate with strong contacts across the construction sector throughout Yorkshire and the North East.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about driving business growth, possess the necessary expertise and network to make a significant impact, and have a proven track record in developing customer relationships and sector presence. You will join a team focused on key account management and prepositioning opportunities via various frameworks.
As a self-starter and highly motivated team member, you should be able to develop an in-depth understanding of our services and generate leads across our public and private sector portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
* Understanding the WD service offering
* Manage and maintain a robust pipeline to ensure a 3-5 year flow of work through preconstruction and operations teams
* Align our products and services to provide solutions for new and existing customers to unlock their programmes and projects
* Engage at all levels across the business, including the local Board, to develop long-lasting customer relationships that generate repeat business
* Identify and manage key customer accounts as ‘Key Account Manager’ where appropriate
* Maintain and update our CRM to inform marketing activities
* Represent the business in the geographical area/sector focus to develop networks and raise our profile
* Promote our ‘Direct Award’ frameworks alongside other offerings

* Proven experience as a Business Development Manager within the construction sector
* High-level verbal communication skills and networking ability
* Ability to develop long-term customer relationships to create growth opportunities
* Ability to identify and qualify new business opportunities aligned with strategic goals
* Strong presentation skills for all levels of seniority
* Ability to manage and analyse Sales & Marketing data and reporting
* Strong influencing skills
* High personal energy with the ability to work independently and in a team
