Nursery Deputy Manager
Hours: Full-time, all year round (Monday to Friday, between 8:00am – 6:00pm)
Starting Pay: £13.37 per hour (with the potential to increase after six months and in line with National Minimum Wage updates)
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Deputy Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced childcare professional who is ready to step into a leadership role and help shape the future of our nursery.
Responsibilities
* Support the Manager in leading, motivating, and guiding the nursery team.
* Ensure the provision of a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children aged 2–5.
* Build strong, positive relationships with parents, keeping them informed and involved in their child’s development.
* Oversee nursery organisation, admissions, and staff deployment.
* Promote and deliver the EYFS curriculum, embedding best practice throughout the setting.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and all statutory requirements.
* Identify and support staff training and development needs.
* Take full responsibility for the nursery in the Manager’s absence, including staffing, organisation, and financial systems.
About You
* Proven experience in a childcare setting with leadership or management responsibilities.
* Strong knowledge of early childhood education and EYFS principles.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience managing and developing staff teams effectively.
* Relevant childcare qualification (Level 3 or above is highly desirable).
* Warm, approachable, and passionate about providing high-quality childcare.
