We are seeking teaching assistants to work in a number of schools near Severn Beach in South Gloucestershire. These roles all involve supporting students who have a range of special needs including Down syndrome, ASC, ADHD, SEMH challenges, learning difficulties, and more. We work with mainstream and special schools with students that are from nursery up to secondary school age.
Some roles require providing 1:1 support to a key student; others are more generalised assistance roles and involve supporting a number of children in the same class. Experience is not necessary, but the successful candidate will be compassionate, resilient and comfortable handling challenging behaviour. This role would ideally suit psychology graduates wanting to learn more about cognitive and behavioural issues, or those who have a background in care or coaching. The work won't be anything too academic and instead will be primarily focused on providing emotional support and helping students develop their social skills.
