The opportunity Our client is currently seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join their Project Engineering Team for a new build chemical plant project based in Runcorn. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) circuits, loops, and systems, as well as producing and updating associated documentation and drawings. The role Location: Runcorn, Cheshire (required onsite 4 days per week) Duration: 6 months Work Hours: 40 hours per week Rate: £320 Ltd per day (subject to an IR35 assessment confirming outside status) Your duties and responsibilities will be Design Electrical Control & Instrumentation circuits, loops, and systems, and produce required drawing packs. Update and maintain associated documentation and drawings. Produce support drawings/documents relating to the Field Change Procedure as required. Amend P&ID’s (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams). Assist Project Engineers as needed throughout the project.You will have the following qualifications and experience Previous experience as a Control & Instrumentation CAD Designer in the Oil & Gas, chemical, or petrochemical sectors. Strong IT literacy, including extensive experience with AutoCAD/Autodesk. Ability to navigate and amend P&ID’s preferred. A methodical work ethic to ensure consistency and quality in outputs. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.Additional Information On-site presence required for 5 days per week in Runcorn.
