Job summary
Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking two Specialty Doctors for the Central Cornwall Children's and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). One full time and one part time. The chosen candidates will play a crucial role in the medical community team and collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT).
The main duty involves leading the psychiatric assessment and treatment of child and adolescent patients in the Mid Cornwall area under the guidance of a Consultant.
The preferred candidate will possess experience in treating children and young people in an inpatient setting and have a background in various mental health services, including primary care.
Applicants should have at least four years of medical experience, with a minimum of two years in Psychiatry, preferably within a CAMHS environment. While MRCPsych is not mandatory, candidates who are in the process of obtaining it are encouraged to apply, as they will be offered opportunities for higher training and support with their examinations.
Main duties of the job
The primary responsibilities of a Specialty Doctor include:
- Conducting psychiatric evaluations, establishing diagnoses, and formulating care plans and treatment strategies for patients in the designated care area.- Collaborating with team members to assess and manage complex cases.- Liaising with external services and agencies, such as those in education, social services, and the voluntary sector.- Cooperating with services to ensure child protection.- Engaging in clinical team meetings and fostering transparent, positive relationships with all team members to support case consultations and discussions.
