An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 Support Workers to join the Mental Health Adult Social Care service. These roles sit within a social enablement mental health team and focus on promoting independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for people with mental health needs.
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will work directly with adults supported by Adult Social Care to help them develop, regain, or maintain practical life skills. Using a strengths-based and person-centred approach, you will support individuals to develop their skills and confidence in daily living in order reduce reliance on support.
This will include supporting people with:
1. Using technology to support independence
2. Rebuilding and maintaining family and social relationships
3. Reconnecting with their local community
4. Developing skills to keep themselves safe
5. Build skills in cooking and personal interests.
6. Help people access relapse prevention groups.
The Team
You will work alongside social workers and occupational therapy to achieve these goals. You are likely to work with:
7. Young people transitioning from children’s services into adulthood
8. Adults in residential placements who may be able to move into supported living
9. Individuals in supported living settings to progress towards private tenancies, with appropriate care and support arrangements in place.
10. People living in their own homes to increase independence.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking motivated, compassionate individuals who are able to work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies. You will have experience of supporting adults with complex mental health needs and a commitment to promoting independence, choice, and control.
