About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our mechanical workshop team in Dover. In this hands-on role, you'll manage daily operations, support on-site work, and make sure all jobs are done safely, on time, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the workshop team
* Plan and allocate work to meet project deadlines
* Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency
* Make sure all work follows company safety procedures and client rules
* Oversee workshop tools, equipment, and maintenance
* Work with Project Managers to help deliver projects smoothly
* Support staff training and development
* Attend client and site meetings when needed
What You'll Need
Essential:
* NVQ Level 4 or similar in Mechanical Engineering or Workshop Management
* Experience in workshop or engineering team management
* Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems
* Valid safety and machinery certifications (e.g. CSCS, CCNSG)
* Good leadership and communication skills
Desirable:
* Experience in heavy or industrial engineering
* Knowledge of CAD drawings, welding, or fabrication
* Forklift or overhead crane certification
Other Requirements:
* You'll need your own vehicle to get to our Dover workshop
