This role is in the Leaving Care and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) team, with a focus on supporting care leavers and working with partners to improve outcomes.
Role Details
* Position: Consultant Social Worker
* Team: Leaving Care and UASC
* Location: Riverside, 4 Canning Road, Lowestoft NR33 0EQ – On-site working
* Hours: 22.5 hours per week – Flexible working options available
* Contract: Permanent
* Salary: £43,723-£47,054 + £3,500 retention per annum (pro rata)
Responsibilities
* Manage your own complex and challenging caseload and provide support to social care staff within the team.
* Experience in partnership working and collaborating with colleagues in other services on complex issues.
* Hold a caseload of primarily 16 and 17 year old care leavers, providing one-to-one support.
* Promote improvement and act as a role model for change; work to deadlines and motivate others.
Qualifications and Requirements
* a social work degree and current Social Work England registration
* experience of working with young people in a professional capacity
* an understanding of the issues and challenges that affect care leavers as they move into independence
* enthusiasm and be creative in engaging young people
