Eurofins Laboratory Technician I

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician I to join our team in Lancaster, PA, on the 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm, Mon.-Fri., Tues.-Sat., or Sun.-Thurs.). The technician will work under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor, performing various testing and sample processing duties in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Follow management system requirements, including ISO/IEC 17025 and relevant regulations.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
* Register incoming samples and maintain accurate records.
* Enter data into the Eurofins eLIMS system accurately and promptly.
* Complete laboratory testing efficiently, ensuring turnaround times are met.
* Verify and submit results in a timely manner.
* Identify process issues and report to supervisor with proposed solutions.
* Maintain professional and cooperative relationships with colleagues and clients.
* Promote the company's image through ethical practices.
* Strive for continuous improvement in testing quality and technology use.
* Identify non-conformances and out-of-specifications.
* Perform all activities safely and efficiently.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
* HS Diploma required; AS or BS in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field preferred.
* Experience in plating, plate reading, and sample preparation is a plus.
* Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
* Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
* Ability to stand for approximately 8 hours, handle repetitive tasks, and work in a high-throughput environment.
* Comfortable working with food testing, including handling smells and potential odors.
Additional Preferences:
Experience in microbiology or related laboratory techniques is preferred.
