We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Support Officer to join the University’s Research and Innovation (RI) Directorate.
The Research Support Officer provides research administrative support for key initiatives within Research and Innovation Services, including support to colleagues across the department in co-ordinating funding enquiries, funding opportunities, training and development opportunities for staff and on-going project management.
The role will provide professional project support to academics throughout the full project lifecycle, from costing support, maximising grant funding awarded and ensuring compliance with funding guidelines from point of application, through award and with post project closedown.
Responsibilities
* Provide project support to academics throughout project lifecycle.
* Costing support and maximizing grant funding awarded.
* Ensure compliance with funding guidelines from application to closedown.
* Co-ordinate funding enquiries and opportunities, training and development for staff.
* On-going project management.
Qualifications
* Experience of project administration within the Higher Education research funding environment.
* Demonstrable knowledge of funding body audit requirements.
* Degree or equivalent qualification in a finance related subject, or significant demonstrable experience.
* Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, ability to work to strict deadlines and meet targets.
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams and advanced Excel.
