Hardware and Electronics Engineer
Location: Bristol
Clearance Requirement: Must be eligible for DV clearance (British Citizen, UK residency for the last 10 years)
Overview
Are you passionate about building hardware from the ground up? This hands-on role involves designing and prototyping custom electronic devices that support real-world operations. You'll work closely with embedded developers and end-users to take projects from schematic to functional product, including PCB design, wireless module integration, enclosure fabrication, and testing.
What You'll Do
* Design and build custom circuits using COTS modules and discrete components
* Create PCB layouts using tools like Altium or EasyEDA
* Integrate wireless technologies (RF, GPS, GSM, Bluetooth, UWB)
* Design and 3D print enclosures for your hardware
* Assemble and test prototypes, including soldering (SMD and through-hole)
* Collaborate with embedded software developers to ensure full system integration
* Document builds, iterations, and configurations
* Support on-site integration, testing, and refinement with end-users
