As our Senior Customer & Marketing Manager for Customer Insight, you will be the driving force behind making our business truly customer-led. Your mission is to translate complex market and behavioral data into the commercial strategies that improve our proposition and drive sales.
Reporting to the Customer Director (and deputising when required), you will lead a team of five internal professionals plus a wider group of full time external contractors.
This is a temporary contract, covering maternity leave. This role does involve travel, visiting competitors and Morrisons stores to help aid the delivery of market growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Intelligence & Strategic Growth
* Deliver weekly and periodic updates utilising Circana, Nielsen, and Worldpanel data to track our performance against the market and competitors.
* Shape business wide strategy and functional plans, specifically focusing on Own Brand and Trade Planning.
* Distill complex data into "What & So What" narratives for the Senior Leadership Team and various business forums.
2. Behavioral Insight & Segmentation
* Lead the evolution, production, and implementation of customer segmentations, ensuring they serve as the foundational blueprint for category strategies.
* Embed the usage of our new MoreViu platform across the organisation to democratise customer insights.
* Deliver rapid, ad-hoc analyses to ensure every business decision is backed by current customer sentiment.
3. Leadership & Operations
* Manage relationships and budgets for third party providers including Circana, Nielsen, Worldpanel, Mintel, and IGD.
* Lead a high performing team, championing their progression and fostering a collaborative, fast paced culture.
* Influence diverse teams, from Loyalty and Online to Finance and Space & Range, to ensure insights lead to action.
About you
To excel in this role, you’ll need to be a data storyteller who is as comfortable with a spreadsheet as you are presenting to a boardroom.
* Proven experience within a food retailer or supplier environment.
* Advanced skills in analysing large datasets (EPOS, panel, and behavioral data) and managing market data providers.
* The ability to turn technical data into a clear customer strategy supported by behavioral targets.
* Thrives under pressure and at pace, with the ability to manage significant budgets and multiple high stake projects simultaneously.
* A natural relationship builder who can influence stakeholders at all levels.
