We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Food Safety & Quality team as a Quality Assurance Assistant for a maternity cover position at our Primary Factory (Boning and Slaughter Halls), reporting directly to the Quality Manager. This temporary role presents a fantastic opportunity for someone who is eager to gain valuable experience and further their career in the food manufacturing industry. The Role: Completion and documentation of all relevant checks in relation to food safety, quality, legality, good manufacturing practice, good hygiene practice and customer specification. Reporting exceptions to Management and initiating corrective action when required. Conducting product sampling and testing as required. Striving for total customer satisfaction. Essential: Demonstrable ability to carry out checks, and reference information for accuracy and details; Ability to demonstrate strong numeracy skills; Ability to demonstrate IT proficiency; Excellent communication skills; Ability to work to tight production deadlines; High level of motivation. Desirable: Minimum of six months previous experience in a quality assurance or food production environment (although not necessary, as full training will be provided); GCSE Maths and English at grade C and above or equivalent Ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of HACCP principles and pre-requisite programs; Possess a higher level qualification in food technology or related discipline.
